Frequently Asked Questions
Common Answers to Questions We Hear
Like other chiropractors, at Cousineau Chiropractic we hear many questions from new and current patients. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we are asked.
Do you have any questions that aren’t answered here? Contact us today and let us answer all of your questions.
If your X-rays were taken within the past year, we can use those if they are weight-bearing (standing). Otherwise, X-rays will typically be taken during your first appointment. This allows our doctors to identify specific issues and tailor your treatment to your unique needs.
What can you expect at your first appointment?
Your initial visit will likely last about 60 to 90 minutes. During this time, you will fill out paperwork, undergo a comprehensive exam from the chiropractor, and receive any necessary X-rays. Treatment will also be provided on the same day.
Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?
Chiropractic adjustments are generally gentle and aim to ensure your comfort throughout the process. While you may experience some soreness, you should not feel significant pain.
Can I receive chiropractic care during pregnancy?
Chiropractic care is generally safe for pregnant women. However, it is advisable to consult your OB/GYN before scheduling an appointment to ensure it is appropriate for your specific situation. Many patients have reported that chiropractic treatments have helped relieve common discomforts associated with pregnancy.
Is a referral needed for chiropractic care?
While most insurance providers do not necessitate a referral, Blue Care Network does require one. Additionally, Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans mandate that treatments be medically necessary. However, if you do not meet these requirements, we also provide a variety of affordable private pay options for your convenience.
